In our little village in the ardens, the christmas crib that stands outside the church isn't so beautiful anymore.
So my dearest, who is always decorating the church inside and outside with thousands of lights for Christmas, decided we had to do something.
So, I asked a local architect, who is also a little bit an artist, if he would like to make the heads of Mary, Joseph and Jesus. He agreed, but asked if I could make the basic construction.
I never did that before. But I wanted to give it a try.
Yesterday, it was raining all day, so the ideal day for this.
I worked all afternoon with wires and went a several times to Gaston to ask his advice. After the 3rd time he was pleased with the result.
This is what I made. Can you imagine these will become Mary, Joseph and little Jesus?
In ons Ardeens dorpje is de kerststal dringend aan vernieuwing toe. Mijn liefste, die zich elk jaar bezig houdt met het hangen van duizenden lichtjes binnen en buiten de kerk, vond het nodig dat we er iets zouden aan doen. Daarom besloot ik om aan Gaston, de dorpsgenoot, gepensioneerde architect, artiest, te vragen of hij de hoofden van Maria, Jozef en Jezus wou maken. Hij stemde toe, op één voorwaarde, dat ik de basis zou maken. Het was gisteren toch slecht weer, dus een ideale dag om te freubelen met ijzerdraad. Na 3 keer Gaston zijn mening te hebben gevraagd, werden uiteindelijk mijn stokken met ijzerdraad goedgekeurd. Zien jullie hier al kerstbeelden in?
